Europe Travel

I love Europe and being from the UK it is so easy to visit the rest of Europe.  It is a great place for solo travel and I have visited many of these countries solo, though I have also seen some of the places as a couple, with the girls or with family.

Luxembourg Travel

Luxembourg is one of the smallest countries in Europe, covering an area of 998 sq miles (2,586 sq km).  It is a landlocked country and is surrounded by Belgium, Germany and France.  It can be hard to know when is the best time to visit Luxembourg, but that depends what you want to do there, if you are wanting to explore the country without many tourists then it is best to avoid July and August when it’s hot and most of Europe has holidays.  December is a good time to visit if you want to explore the Christmas markets, but the days are shorter so you can explore outside for as long as it gets dark in the early afternoon.

It is one of the richest countries in the world, made so by its banking, industrial and steel sectors.  It has 3 main languages, French, German & Luxembourgish, though nearly everyone in the country also speaks English.

It is possible to do Luxembourg in one day but to see the country properly I recommend to spend 2 or 3 days there.  You would need a day to explore Luxembourg City, the capital as there are many things to do in Luxembourg City in one day and there are many day trips from Luxembourg if you want to spend longer in Luxembourg and travel from there.

If you like visiting castles then Luxembourg is the place to go as there are over 100 castles in Luxembourg.  You can even choose to stay in one of the two Luxembourg Castle Hotels or stay in one of the other quirky hotels that you can find in Luxembourg.  It can be hard to decide where to stay in Luxembourg as there is a lot of choice from modern buildings to buildings dating back to 1683 or even a medieval fortification tower.
