Most of the Bed and Breakfasts are family run or have a small team, some with just a few rooms and some of them a bit larger, but they all have the personal feel and you can get to know the local area where you are staying and be part of the family that owns the place.
Springdale
Springdale is located just outside the South Entrance of Zion National Park and is the most popular place to stay for people who are visiting Zion National Park. A lot of the places are within walking distance of the park or are served by the park shuttle so you can get to the park and start hiking from 6am.
Springdale Utah also has many restaurants, cafes, shops and souvenir shops that you can spend your time enjoying when you are outside of the park. It only has a population of 600 people but in the height of summer the town explodes with people.

Flanigans Inn Springdale Utah
Flanigans Inn Zion is one of the most popular bed and breakfast close to Zion National Park. It was originally built in 1947 and has had the name “Flanigan’s Inn” since 1984, after the Flanigan family that came to Springdale in the 1870’s. The Flannigans Inn prides itself in being a family run business and making sure all their guests have an amazing stay.
It is located just less than a mile from the entrance to Zion National Park, so it is a nice easy walk to the visitors centre or you can get the shuttle (stop 3) which is just outside the inn. Breakfast is not included though it is available at the onsite restaurant where you can enjoy dinner too.
All the rooms at this Zion Canyon bed and breakfast have air conditioning and you can choose from a basic to deluxe room, suite or even a villa if there are up to 5 of you travelling together.
Flanigans Zion is also one of the places where you can enjoy a spa near Zion National Park as it has an onsite spa where you can get a massage or facial treatment after a hard days hiking. If you want to just relax the inn also has a swimming pool that you can use to cool down on a hot day. Many guests also love the walkway above the property where you can watch sunrise.
The Novel House Inn at Zion
The Novel House Inn near Zion National Park, is a small family inn that has been welcoming visitors to Zion National Park for the past 26 years. The house has amazing views of the Zion Canyon and with only 10 rooms you certainly get the personal touch. Each room is decorated in the style of a famous author with an antique phone!!
Breakfast is included in the price but it is not onsite, it is just a few minutes walk away at Oscars Cafe just across the road from the Novel House Inn Springdale. The Zion Shuttle stop 5 is just a few minutes walk away from the Inn for when you want to enter the park.
The inn has 9 rooms for 2 people and a suite with a kitchen which has the capacity for 4 people. All rooms have a private bathroom and the Inn has a beautiful garden in which you can enjoy the amazing views of Zion canyon. It is a great option for staying near Zion National Park.
Harvest House Bed and Breakfast Springdale
The Harvest House Bed and Breakfast Zion is a beautifully run Bed and Breakfast with only 4 rooms meaning that you get to chat with the hosts and they can help you with where to eat and what to do in Zion National Park. All rooms are either queen or king rooms with a private bathroom.
Harvest B&B near Zion National Park has a full breakfast included Fri-Sun and continental Mon-Thurs, though this is only from March to October.
The Harvest House Zion also has a year round hot tub that you can use after a hard days hiking or you can relax in the garden with Koi Pond and enjoy the amazing views of the Watchman.
You can walk into Zion National Park as it is only half a mile from the entrance or you can catch the shuttle from stop number 4.
Rockville
Rockville is located just less than 5 miles from Zion National Park and is much quieter than Springdale as there are just a few houses on the couple of roads in town and no restaurants or shops, though Springdale is very close and Hurricane is just 17 miles away.
If you want to stay in a quieter location away from the hustle and bustle of Springdale and with a local family then Rockville is a great choice.
Tyler Inn at Zion
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle and the crowds of Zion then Tyler Inn Zion is the perfect place for you. Just 5 miles from Zion National Park, it is easy to get to the park but also easy to be away from the crowds and surrounded by nature.
The Inn has just 4 bedrooms all with private bathrooms, all rooms can accommodate 2 people with one room able to fit 4 people. A homemade breakfast is also included.
Lunch and dinner is not provided at the Inn and there are no restaurants in Rockville, but you can easily drive to Springdale only 4 miles away or Hurricane 17 miles away or you are able to use the kitchen to make sandwiches or reheat food, but cooking a full meal is not allowed in the kitchen.
Tyler Inn is a great place to stay and the hosts are very knowledgeable about the area to help you plan your stay.
2 Cranes Inn
The 2 Cranes Inn Zion has been run by new owners since 2016 who are also guides and run a shuttle service. The Inn has 4 bedrooms all with private bathrooms and access to a large communal kitchen. Outside they have a large garden with gas grill, fire pit and a river stone and grass walking labyrinth or you can relax in one of the hammocks.
Breakfast is not provided, though they have everything you would need for breakfast in the communal kitchen.
The Inn is just 5 miles from Zion National Park and the perfect place to relax after a days hiking, you can either cook in the communal kitchen or enjoy restaurants in nearby Springdale or Hurricane.
Virgin
The town of Virgin is located 15 miles from the entrance of Zion National Park and is slightly bigger than Rockville, though smaller and less touristy than Springdale. In the town, you will find a few shops and restaurants and even more just 7 miles away in La Verkin.
It’s a great place to stay somewhere in the wilderness and to enjoy beautiful views and sunsets and to be away from the crowds that can be in Zion National Park.
Zions Tiny Oasis
If you are looking for something a little different, then luxury in a tiny home is a great option. Located on the west edge of Zion National Park in a little oasis, 5 minutes away from the local shops, you will find these 4 tiny homes. Each of the tiny homes has a kitchen, a bbq area and fire pit for cold nights and also a hot tub!!
Each of the tiny homes at Zion Tiny House Oasis have air conditioning, heating, showers, bathrooms, electricity and wifi, everything that you would expect in a normal house except the area is much smaller. These houses have been lovingly built and are unique and you will certainly enjoy your experience.
One home is for 2 people, there are two homes for 4 people and one that sleeps 6 people. Please note that in each home there is 1 bed that is accessed by climbing a ladder so if you have mobility issues you may need to consider that.
If you would like to experience the outdoors and very posh glamping then experience Tiny Oasis Zion.
Kanab & Mount Carmel Junction
Kanab is located 30 miles east of the east entrance to Zion National Park and Mount Carmel Junction is just 13 miles away from the entrance. As the name states Mount Carmel Junction is just a junction and has a few gas stations, restaurants and shops and not much else. You will find Arrowhead Inn just 2 miles from Mount Carmel Junction and Zion Mountain Ranch is even closer to the entrance to Zion National Park, just 5 miles away from the park.
Kanab though is much bigger and you will find a lot of Kanab Utah Lodging, restaurants and shops and is just 30 miles away from Zion or 17 miles from Mount Carmel Junction giving you plenty of options to eat if you don’t want to stay in the town. It is a great option if you are planning on traveling from Zion to Bryce and want to spend as much of your day at Zion before traveling on to Bryce Canyon National Park.
Zion Mountain Ranch Resort
Zion Mountain Ranch is a historical ranch near Zion National Park with a herd of buffalo living onsite. There is lots to do around the ranch if you don’t want to spend all your days exploring Zion National Park. There is horse riding, jeep tours or you can explore the ranch and see the many deer, buffalo, horses, chickens, ducks and bunnies.
From Zion Mountain Ranch to Zion National Park it is just 5 minutes drive so the perfect place to stay close to the east entrance of the park. They have many different options of accommodation, all separate cabins or lodges. Zion Mountain Ranch Restaurant is an onsite restaurant where you can buy breakfast and dinner, though it is a little expensive, a lot of the produce is produced on the farm and if not then they try to source it locally, meaning that the menu changes with the seasons.
If you would like somewhere with log fires and to experience living on a ranch close to nature, then Zion mt ranch is a great option to stay during your trip to Zion National Park.
Best Friends Roadhouse
Best Friends Roadhouse is a pet friendly hotel offering 40 rooms. It is part of the Best Friends Animal Society with the profit from the hotel going towards supporting the lifesaving mission of the sanctuary.
The hotel has many dog and cat friendly amenities and if you haven’t brought an animal then there is even the option of a pet sleepover with you. A continental or vegan breakfast is included.
Kanab is located on the intersection of highway 89 and 89a, only 30 miles or 35 minutes drive to the east entrance of Zion National Park. If you are travelling to Bryce National Park, then it would be a good place to stop after your day at Zion as it is only 75 miles or around 1.5 hours drive.
Make sure to visit the Animal Sanctuary when you are there, which is located 5 miles north from the hotel.
Arrowhead Country Inn and Cabins
Arrowhead Country Inn & Cabins is a working ranch that you can stay at while on your trip of Utah. You will be able to see the hens, goats, donkeys, cows, cat and geese that live on the property. Arrowhead Inn is a great location for exploring Zion (15 miles away), Bryce (60 miles) and Grand Canyon (100 miles). Please note that Arrowhead bed and breakfast utah is located close to the east entrance of Zion National Park.
There are the options of 7 different cabins and cottages, located around the property. Breakfast is included within the price of the room and onsite you will also find a hot tub and seasonal outdoor pool for guest use. Most of the cabins have outdoor seating area and beautiful views of the White Cliffs of the Elkhart Mountains.
All rooms have either a kitchenette or kitchen and have heating and air conditioning and this is a great place to relax after your day trip and great location if you are planning to see a few of the national parks in the area.
Colorado City
Colorado City is around 40 miles from Zion National Park and is just over the border in Arizona. It is also a great place to stay if you are planning on visiting the north entrance of the Grand Canyon as it is only 60 miles away from the Grand Canyon Highway that takes you down to the north rim visitors centre.
Zion Cliff Lodge
Zion Cliff Lodge is a small boutique lodge located in Hildale, it has a shared lounge, terrace and bar facilities for you to wind down after a busy day.
The hotel has 10 suites and it has been lovingly renovated by the current owners. It is located close to some beautiful hikes, restaurants and shops.
The rooms are very modern and clean and this is a great option.
Colorado City and Hildale is located about 40 miles from Zion National Park and will take about 45 minutes to drive to the entrance.
St George
St George is located 40 miles from the south entrance of Zion National Park and is a big city, here you will have no problems finding many restaurants and shops to buy anything you may need for your trip.
It is a great location to visit Zion National Park, Red Cliffs Conservation Area and Beaver Dam Conservation Area too.
Inn on the Cliff St George
Inn on the Cliff was bought, renovated and reopened by the current owners in 2014 who wanted the inn to have a soft contemporary feel and for the guests to enjoy the views of Pine Mountains snow capped peaks and in the distance Zion Canyon. Guests can also enjoy the views from the pool and hot tub that sit on the edge of the cliff.
The Inn at the Cliff St George has 27 rooms and you can choose from King Rooms to Queen rooms with 2 beds catering for 4 people. All rooms have balconies where you can enjoy the amazing view and breakfast is included. There is an onsite restaurant where you can also enjoy lunch and dinner.
Inn on the cliff is only 43 miles from Zion National Park and will take around 1 hour to drive to the park. This is a great hotel to be close to Zion but also to explore Snow Canyon State Park that is just 20 minutes away.
The Mulberry Inn St George
The Mulberry Inn St George Utah first opened in 1873 and is the longest running bed and breakfast in southern Utah. The current owners bought the Inn on their 31st wedding anniversary and have restored it to it’s original grandeur for guests to enjoy.
Mulberry bed and breakfast has 7 guests bedrooms all differently themed and offers double, triple and quadruple rooms for it’s guests, with an exceptional breakfast included in the price. Guests can also enjoy the porches, balconies and beautiful garden of the inn.
The Mulberry Bed & Breakfast hosts love to help the guests learn about the history of the inn and the area and help to make sure they know exactly what they can do in the area. The Inn is just 1 hour drive away from Zion National Park.
Kolob Canyon/New Harmony
New Harmony is located just 7 miles from the Kolob Canyon Visitors centre of Zion National Park and around 46 miles from the South Entrance of Zion National Park. There are no restaurants or shops in New Harmony so you will need to go a bit further afield for restaurants or bring some food to cook at your accommodation.
Harmony Belle at Kolob Canyon
The Harmony Belle is a small bed and breakfast with 3 king sized rooms. It is around 46 miles from Zion National Park and will take around 1 hour to drive there. If you enjoy staying with a family then this is a great option.
A buffet breakfast is included within the price and there is also a shared kitchen or bbq area that you can use if you do not want to go out to a local restaurant.
Cedar City
Cedar City is located just 20 miles from the Kolob Canyon visitors centre and 57 miles from the south entrance of Zion. Cedar City is a big city though so you will find plenty of shops and restaurants for you to eat at. It also has a beautiful historical centre that you can explore and learn about the founders who first settled there in 1851. It is known as Festival City USA as it has many festivals throughout the year.
It is a great option if you want to explore both parts of Zion National Park.
Bards Inn Cedar City
The Bards Inn Bed and Breakfast is located in the historical centre of Cedar City and was built in 1912. The current owners have operated the B&B since 1999. Zion north entrance is a 15 minute drive, with the South Entrance an hours drive away.
There are 8 bedrooms all with private bathrooms and some even come with full kitchens. They have the capacity for 5 guests in one of the rooms. An included buffet breakfast offers many choices for you, that can be eaten in the Victorian dining room or outside in the beautiful garden.
If you want to experience staying in a historical building and town and see some other sites in the area, then Bard’s Inn is a great option.
Big Yellow Inn Cedar City
Another beautiful option in Cedar City, is the Big Yellow Inn, which gets in name from its yellow facade. Located in the downtown historic district, it has a grand staircase and 8 fireplaces to keep you warm if you visit in winter. The Zion Park entrance is a 1 hour drive from the Inn.
Big yellow inn cedar city utah has 12 bedrooms all with private bathrooms and air conditioning and a hot breakfast is served in the dining room or on one of the outside porches that wrap around the house. The current owners have been running the Inn since 2000.
If you like minimalism then this is not the place for you, The Big Yellow Inn in Cedar City is a beautiful B&B packed with relics from different periods making it great place to explore and feel like you are in a museum and to enjoy your down time between visits to Zion.
