Weather in Zion in October
October in Zion National Park brings cooler weather, though it’s still relatively mild compared to the upcoming winter months. The average temperature in October is around 66°F (19°C). During the day, temperatures usually range between 68-75°F (20-24°C), but at night and early morning, they can drop to as low as 40°F (4°C).

In October 2024, the only campground open in Zion National Park is the Watchman Campground, located near the visitors center. This campground operates by reservation only, so you’ll need to book in advance if you plan to stay overnight. Reservations can be made up to 6 months prior to your trip.
Each campsite provides space for a tent or RV, a picnic table, and access to a fire ring. The Watchman Campground has 176 sites, with 69 designated for tents and 65 for RVs. While restrooms are available, there are no showers on-site. However, you can find shower facilities in Springdale, just a short walk from the park.
Does the Zion Shuttle run in October?
The Zion Shuttle is still running in October, though on a later schedule than the summer months.
