An update on the last year of ilive4travel
What have I been doing in the past year
Its been over a year since my last blog post, but I am now back and raring to go and tell you about the amazing places I have visited.
What have I been doing the last year? Well in September last year I started managing a surf hostel in Huanchaco Northern Peru. I had been volunteering there 6 months earlier and fell in love with the place. I thought that I would have plenty of time to work on my blog and do a few online courses I had signed up to but unfortunately it didn’t work out like that. As is usual in Peru something always needs fixing and these things take time!! It was an amazing but exhausting experience working 7 days a week without a day off for 6 months!! Getting to look at the sea while I was doing this made it worth while though!!

A month before I finished I cut down my hours to 2 days a week and managed to finally have a few weekends away (some with friends) where I visited some of the beaches in the far north of Peru and some nearer to home.

After this I travelled to Arequipa (I lived there for 2 months 6 years ago) for my friends birthday. Its a city I love and it was nice to chill out and visit my favourite places.
From there I flew north and went to Chacapoyas, where I visited Kuelap, a pre incan ruin from the 6th century.

I then got the bus to Terrapuerto to meet my friend as originally we were going to get the slow boat from there to Iquitos. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately the slow boat was not going that day meaning that we would have to get the fast boat. Once in Iquitos we booked a 3 day jungle tour and I can’t wait to write about that one. At least I know now I am not made for the jungle and will try to avoid in the future!!
After Iquitos I flew back to Huanchaco for my final 2 weeks before flying back to the UK.
Once I was back in the UK my travelling didn’t stop and after not being in one place for so long in Peru I was itching to explore again, so I decided to get the train to Scotland (except for a girls weekend to Edinburgh) as I have never visited and go explore. I fell in love with it and know when I visit the UK it will be a place I come to for a little bit every time. I can’t wait to share with you all the amazing photos and places I saw with you.

After 4 days back home, I then packed my bags again and headed to Morocco. I was lucky enough to win a food tour of Morocco and its a country I have always wanted to visit so I was very excited. It was so unlike how I expected it to be and a country I would feel safe travelling in solo and I can’t wait to go back and explore further.

Once back from Morocco I then visited Spain for my birthday, where my sister was on holiday and had a few relaxing beach days and visited Monserrat.
My plans for the rest of the year
Next week I will visiting Malta, a country I have been trying to go and see for a few years, I even won free flights for earlier this year but was unable to go as I was in Peru!! I am very excited to visit as it looks so beautiful.
Once I am back from Malta, it will be getting cold in the UK so it will be time to head out of the country and back to Peru for winter.
Next year
As for next year, who knows what it will hold and where I will be visiting. I know not to make too many plans as plans always change. That might not be for everyone but I love it. Am hoping to travel more slowly, work on my blog and see where the year takes me.
