As I had seen most things in Riga and wanted to go explore further afield. The people in my hostel recommended that I go to Kemeri National Park as the weather had turned due to it being mid September and it was no longer beach weather.
The trains run from Riga train station every 2 hours, so I decided to get the 9.30am train which takes about an hour. You need to get off at the Kemeri Railway Station and it costs around 1.50 Euro each way. Continue reading
While I was in Riga I was told that I had to visit Gauja National Park and to go to the town Sigulda. It takes about 1 hour 15 mins on the bus from Riga and costs 2.50 Euro each way.
When I arrived I went into the tourist information office located next to the train station and got a map of the area and found out the main points of interests to see. Continue reading

I decided to go in september which is maybe not the warmest time of year, I was there in the middle of the month and within a day the temperature dropped 10 degrees!!
